When Good Things Go Bad

Today is a sad day in the Twin Cities.

ABC Radio has murdered Drive 105.

MURDERED!

It was a rough drive home to begin with, but realizing this actually made me cry.

Hey TC Residents: Want to hear some Matisyahu? How about The Kooks? The Fratellis? What about some Elvis Costello or The Cure?

Too Damn Bad.

But…if you need a good Lionel Richie fix, head on over to Drive, Oops, I mean LOVE 105.

Or, if Rock Whore Ass is what you’re into and you totally love old rock like AC/DC and Metallica - or anyone else who should be on the classic rock station - check out 93x, where my man JP The Radio Slave now resides. Their website is, like, OMG! So. Totally Cool. Like, there are half-naked whores ALL OVER it. Even a ‘hot chick of the day!’

But I won’t. I won't have that station on when my kids are around. I won't even have it on when they aren't. I outgrew that station along with my want to down a beer bong. I wonder where their gay listeners will flock to now, as well, as I can't see the loads of ass over at X being very appealing.

What’s a girl to do? What’s a music lover to do? Who the hell in this metropolis will play GOOD music???

I need some suggestions…I’m leaning toward Sirius, but I’m poor.

My lovelies, I need your help!!

(PS - I’m totally NOT going in to work today and I promise to get some new posts ready. I have to retire one that never even got posted because it was about my love/hate relationship with the aforementioned DJ. I just won‘t advertise for that POS station.)

That really sucks! Unfortunately I think we're going to see more and more stations sell out.

Hot chick of the day? Seriously?

This was the dumbest move ABC has made yet with the 105s. This latest format will tank just like V105 did before Drive began. Love songs 24/7 screams stunt to me.

I have Sirius radio. It's great. I bet you could convince The Man to splurge on it. Tell him its got the NFL radio package and he can hear any game that day (cheaper than directv's nfl package). What's great about it is that you can listen to it in ANY state--perfect for a drive to Disney World!!

I am so sad for you! My favorite station, Lucy, is on XM. And my car gets SIRIUS. I haven't found a station that I love all the time like LUCY on SIRIUS. So every once in a while I steal the husbands car, the one with XM, to get my fix.

Ooooohhh, that is the worst. I'm sorry they killed your favorite station! From your description of it, it would have been my favorite station too. Stupid ABC. I'm so sorry!

I think you and I have a similar commute (long as hell) and good lord I don't know what I'd do if they took off some of my favorite djs. I'm bummed for you!

Stupid ABC :(

What's sad is I'm used to my favorite 105 station being "murdered". They did it to Rev 105 too....and the other one I can't remember the name of. We could probably add you onto our sirius package, ask your brother about it. I listen to sirius at work on the computer and really like it, they have a good alternative station you'd like.

I had to get satellite radio... otherwise my commute would have killed me.

Sure, just not the same two Cure songs over and over, day in and day out...

I have to wonder if I'm feeding a troll here, but I happened to love all the Cure songs they played (It was more like 7, but I can count.)

I think it's *cute* when people search for blog posts about stuff they DISLIKE. Your life must be so full!

Anyway, thanks for all the info, guys/gals...We are def. looking into Sirius now...probably for Father's day. ;)
