Break

We had a water main bust at work, flooding out half of the offices. We are all working in stations set up in meeting rooms and the auditorium. Then on top of that, my boss just mandated 50 hours a week. I’m now seriously searching for a new job.

I need a break, guys. When it comes down to putting something on hold, I never wanted it to be my blogging. This keeps me sane. It makes me feel like I’m not alone. Like I have FRIENDS or something.

But in reality, my job and my family have to come first. Even though this job has gone from kinda crappy to almost unbearable (okay, not in terms of “well, they dig in mines all day” but in terms of “This is not the job I took four years ago”). But it is still what puts food in my family’s mouths and pays the mortgage. Until I find something that allows me just a little personal time, I have to give up the personal time I took here and just do the work. I have to do my best for the big faceless corporation. And family…well, I know you all get that. With an extra ten waking hours out of the house, my time with them is already limited enough.

This isn’t “Good-Bye,” just “See ya later.” I might find time to post here and there, but in case I don’t, I wanted to let you know that YES! I AM okay. I miss you all (you know I’m a whore for the comments – and by that I mean your comments keep me company and keep a smile on my face!) and I will try to stay caught up on your blogs.

I have the whole week of Thanksgiving off and I’m going to use that as my little beacon of hope to get me through it all.

I will also try to post some pictures from Halloween tonight.

So until next time…

Noooooooo!

I'm sorry about work. Seriously. That's so messed up. It makes me want to arrange for your boss to go hunting with Dick Cheney or something. Grrrrrr.

Hey, Utah's a lovely place. We'll get y'all a job here and then we can go to lunch together or something. Yes, I like that idea very much.

Okay, *sniff* I hope they don't keep you away for too long. Just know that I'm missing you desperately over here.

You'll be missed, A LOT.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that a new gig magically lands in your lap that will not only give you blogging time but allows you to travel to places like say ...Seattle and pays you a grip of cash!
Stay sane, my dear!

Noooooooooo!

Don't go.
Come on, I'm queen of blog pauses and I hate it. It takes so much gumption to get back into it once you go away. Don't go! Don't do it! Even if it's a funny one liner every couple of days. Come on, you've got time for that.

Or if you go, remember that I'll be here when you get back... because you've done the same for me.

Stay sane!!

Well I'll certainly be here when you get back. So, good luck with everything. I know 50 hours sounds really horrible, but my husband has been working 60-70 hours a week for about 4 or 5 years now and when he works a mere 40-50 hours I worry and accuse him of slacking off!lol It's amazing how you get used to things, and I'm sure you are strong enough to handle it or anything. I wish you the best. And I'll see you when you get back!

Brill - MWAH. He's not THAT bad...just doing what HIS boss is making him do, too. :D

worker mommy - Thanks!

Carla - prayers are always welcome!

mellisavina - I am going to try to periodically post, but just wanted to let people know what was going on in case I don't (And to explain my almost week-long absence). I'm hoping I'll only need a couple weeks off, when I get my office back, things should be better.

Kelly - yeah, I know that if I were used to it, it would seem different. But I already spend 11 hours commuting every week, and I am SOLE cleaner in my house, so that zeros out all personal time and a lot of kidlet time (As is, I only get to hang with them a couple hours a night). But I understand what you're saying.

I'm going to miss you all, too. Though I really am trying to keep caught up on blog reading, I became violently ill last night and ended up sleeping all evening. And this NaBloMoFo thing is just filling up my reader like crazy!! :D Wish I could participate with you all!!

I completely and totally understand. Since I have been working full time, compared to working 32 hours a week, I am so much busier than I used to be and have very little time left for blogging. So, I can only imagine having to work 10 hours a week more than I do now. I would be so exhausted I wouldn't be able to wiggle let alone blog. Anyway, I completely understand & will be here when you get back!!!! Good luck on the new job search.

On the Internet, just like in life, your real friends will wait for you.

I hope things get better. I hope you find a job that lets you have a life, not just a living.

I've been feeling this way lately too. Someone asked me why I blogged and I said it was fun. . . but sometimes, when theres a gazillion items in my reader, I feel like it's work.

I hope you find a new job too. I hate how all these companies are laying off people and putting all the work on the remaining people.

take care my friend. I'm always an email away if you need to vent.
