My New Favorite Place

The Sunday we were coming home from Duluth, we headed North up the Lake Superior shore first.

We stopped in Two Harbors, where I spent so much time trying to get a PERFECT picture (to no avail).

Heading toward Split Rock Lighthouse, we saw a State Park sign and thought we'd use the opportunity for a bathroom break.

Little did I know what we would find.

Gooseberry Falls is now my new favorite place. I am going to buy me a little tent and just go live there. Okay, maybe not (there is no internet...dear, sweet, internet.) but I REALLY want to go back - THIS year. With the kids. They would LOOOVE this!!

We never did make it to tour Split Rock, we'll have to save that for next time. We did stop at a rest stop and take a picture, though.

Next Time: Pictures from That Saturday!

Some of the best times my family had were when we'd pack a cooler and head up the shore. Sometimes we'd just keep going & going, just to see what we'd find.
Sigh.
Good times...

Sigh...I heart gooseberry. You got some really good pics! We really do have a pretty cool state, despite the snow.

I am a real sucker for light houses and falls. As nice as the falls area looks I am really surprised it was so deserted. Great place to take the kids and have the place all to yourselves :-)

Oh my gosh. The pics are fantastic. What a gorgeous spot to stumble upon! I'm kind of in love with lighthouses myself...

Can't wait for the post about THAT SATURDAY. :-)

That place looks gorgeous... but when you find those gems you should keep them a secret (but just tell me). :)

Love the North Shore or Norwegian Riviera, whichever you prefer. Duluth is always a fun ride!

OOHH!!! Love Two Harbors. Just beautiful. Bayfield and Ashland are also gorgeous, and have internet!

There is just something magical about Lake Superior... maybe because it's so freakin' cold you can't swim in it so you can only look at it...
